Buy the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 for a weekend with a small fridge in mild weather, where the point is that at 10.8 kg it is the lightest unit here with a verified listing that still carries the easy end of this plan. Take the Jackery Explorer 2000 v2 if the fridge is a big one, the days are hot, or no panel is coming with you, with one caveat on timing: when we checked, Jackery's own page had the bare unit on pre-order with a ship date rather than in stock. Take the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus if a panel is part of the plan, because it accepts more than twice the solar either Jackery does, and that is what stretches a weekend into a week. All three will run a fridge; what separates them is what happens when the second night ends.

Who this is for
You drive to the site with a 12 V compressor fridge in the back, and you want it cold for two nights alongside phones, a laptop and a few lights. The fridge changes the shape of the problem. Everything else you packed is intermittent; the fridge keeps working through the afternoon heat, through the night, and every time somebody lifts the lid.

If your cooler runs on ice, you have no electrical load here at all. And nobody walking in with the gear on their back will want to lift any of these three.
How much battery you need
The fridge is on for the whole 48 hours, and at the top of the range it carries the largest single share of the energy, ahead of the laptop and monitor and more than phones and lights together. The laptop shuts, the lights go off, the phones come and go; the fridge does not stop because you went to bed.
Multiply each load by the hours it actually draws and the plan runs from 744 watt-hours to 7,152, and most of that spread is the fridge. Duty cycle is the size of the box, the ambient temperature, the sun on the lid, how often the lid opens and how cold you set it. One overlander's log of an Engel had the compressor running about a quarter of the time overnight and as much as half at midday; a field test of a Dometic came in well under its maker's annual rating on a cold weekend, then nearly tripled when the ambient warmed.
You cannot read your own answer off the box, because makers publish amps rather than watts: Dometic prints a rated DC current, ARB quotes one blended figure for three sizes of fridge, and ICECO calls its own consumption numbers laboratory data, which one instrumented test exceeded. Watts never decide this page anyway. The plan pulls at most 380 watts, a compressor's start is short and modest, and all three picks clear the starting check at both ends, so we size on energy, at the harder end.

The Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 is the lightest unit with a verified listing that carries an efficient fridge and the rest of this plan across two nights. On a page where the box rides in a footwell and gets lifted in and out of the car every day, 10.8 kg is most of the argument, and at $559 it is the cheapest of the three as well. It suits a small, well-insulated fridge, a shaded pitch and a mild forecast, bought by someone who would rather carry less than pay for headroom they may never use.
Against the worst case it is 6,242 Wh short: about 15.6 hours of full sun at its 400 W solar input, or roughly 31 hours from one 200 W panel, and real panels deliver less than their rating.

Living with it
Change the shutoff before the first night. Energy Saving Mode ships switched on and kills every output after half a day of low load, and a fridge that runs a quarter of the time is the sort of load that can read as low; the unit also powers itself down after a couple of idle hours. Both timers live in the Jackery app, over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
Its car socket runs the fridge on the DC cord the fridge came with, skipping the inverter, where one tester measured roughly a tenth of the energy lost near full load. It charges while it runs, so a panel can stay plugged in all day, though one reviewer watched the charge rate fall away under a heavy pass-through load; a fridge is not one.
Cold bites the charging, not the running: below freezing it stops taking a charge, worth knowing on a frosty morning with a panel out, though it keeps running colder still. Jackery's FAQ quotes a whisper for the fan while one tester measured it plainly audible, but only well past anything a fridge asks, so it should not wake you.

What you give up
Headroom, permanently. Jackery states there is no expansion battery for this model, so a hotter trip or a bigger fridge later means buying a second station rather than a second pack. It accepts no more panel than the far larger Explorer 2000 v2 does, and panel input is the wrong place to be short when the sun is your only refill; the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus costs more and swallows more than twice as much, which is the trade between them.

The Jackery Explorer 2000 v2 roughly doubles the battery for a few kilograms more and keeps a verified listing, which is what you want when the fridge is a large one, the forecast is hot, the lid gets opened by a family, or no panel is coming along. At $999 it costs nearly twice the Explorer 1000 v2, and at 17.9 kg it is the one pick you think about before moving. Buy it to stop rationing. One thing to check before ordering: at the time we looked, the maker's own page listed the bare unit as a pre-order with a ship date.
Against the worst case it is 5,416 Wh short: about 13.5 hours of full sun at its 400 W solar input, or roughly 27 hours from one 200 W panel, and real panels deliver less than their rating.

Living with it
Its useful trick for a fridge is that it charges and runs at the same time, but read the small print first: while it is doing both, Jackery caps the AC output and caps the car and DC output much harder still. If the fridge is on the DC cord and a panel is feeding the unit at the same time, that cap is the figure to check against your fridge's own rated current, not the socket's headline rating.
Energy Saving Mode behaves as it does on the Explorer 1000 v2, on by default, cutting all outputs after half a day of low load, so turn it off or stretch the timer in the app. Idle draw is the same order as its smaller sibling; one tester measured slightly less than the spec and reckoned roughly five days of standby on a full charge, which matters more here than on any other page, because this is the unit people leave loaded in the car between weekends.
The owner reading is usefully mixed. A tester who camped with it for six months said the fan ran quietly and rarely and that he never hesitated to carry it around camp, while another called the housing soft under the carry handle and Jackery's rugged marketing pure fantasy. The first tester also found the advertised charge rate only arrives when Emergency Charging Mode is switched on by hand; left alone it charges slower, and his full refill took longer than the spec table claims. Money and weight, for a unit that still cannot carry this plan's hard end off a single charge. It cannot be expanded either, so its battery is its ceiling, and it accepts no more panel than the Explorer 1000 v2 does despite holding twice as much. The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus takes more than twice the solar input of either Jackery, which is the specification that turns a two-day plan into an open-ended one, and it is the only pick here with an extra-battery port if the fridge trips get longer. At $719 and 12.5 kg it sits between the two Jackerys on both counts, with a five-year warranty rather than three. It suits the person who already owns a panel, or knows they will, and who camps for longer than a weekend at a time.

Living with it
Its idle shutoff is the one that handles a fridge properly. Leave the AC output idle and it turns itself off on a timer, but that timer is adjustable in the EcoFlow app and can be set to never, and EcoFlow names a refrigerator as the reason. Do it on the kitchen table, not at the campsite.
For DC there is a cigarette-lighter socket and a pair of smaller barrel ports, with a combined ceiling across that 12 V group rather than one per socket, worth checking if the fridge is not alone on DC. One owner posting in EcoFlow's own group reported unusually fast drain whenever the AC inverter was left on, which is an argument for the DC cord and for killing AC overnight.
The fan is the recurring complaint, and the one that matters in a tent: bench testing had it quiet at light loads and clearly louder under heavier ones, one reviewer heard it over a vacuum nearby, and it ran warm even on light work. A fridge is a light load, so the noise mostly arrives while you charge. It will not charge below freezing either.

Noise and heat, reported across more than one independent review rather than by a single unlucky tester, and a battery no bigger than the Explorer 1000 v2's for more money. Car charging is thinner than the spec sheet suggests, too: one reviewer's older vehicle never supplied the input that port is rated for, and his full charge ran past the advertised time. You are paying for the panel input and the expansion port, not for capacity.

Day two and three
A third day is another fridge day. The laptop may stay shut and the lights off, but the compressor keeps its share whether you use the camp or not. Each pick's card turns its own gap into hours of panel input; no panel makes its rated figure, and a morning with cloud in it makes far less, so treat those hours as a floor.
This is where they separate. The DELTA 3 Plus accepts more than twice the panel either Jackery will take, which is the difference between topping up and keeping up. Both Jackerys cap at the same panel input, so the Explorer 2000 v2's bigger battery takes proportionally longer to fill from the sun; one reviewer called that input undersized for a unit this size. A second found Jackery's site advertising more solar across six panels than the Explorer 1000 v2's DC ports take, and that unit's two inputs sit in parallel, which means matched panels rather than whatever is in the garage.
Buying it right
A search for any of these models returns bundles, sibling models and, often, the same unit under two listings at different prices. What this page can’t promise
We tested none of this. Every specification is the maker's own, cited beneath each pick, and when a maker disagrees with itself, as Jackery does on recharge time and fan noise, you get both versions rather than the flattering one. The fridge model behind the page comes from spec sheets and named logs, not a fridge we measured.
The one thing we cannot tell you is where your own fridge lands in that range, and it is the whole page. The Explorer 2000 v2 has not reached owners yet, so everything written under it comes from review sites. EcoFlow publishes no idle figure for the DELTA 3 Plus we could find, and we do not borrow one from another model.

How many watt-hours does a 12V fridge use per day?
In this plan the fridge is most of 744 to 7,152 watt-hours across two days, and the spread is the honest answer: it depends on the size of the box, the ambient temperature, the sun on the lid, how often it is opened and how cold you set it. One field test of a Dometic over a cold weekend came in well below the maker's own rating, and the same fridge nearly tripled its draw once the weather warmed up.
Can I run the fridge off the 12 V socket instead of AC?
Usually it is the better way. All three picks have a 12 V car socket, and the ports list under each pick gives its current limit; check it against the rated DC current on your own fridge, which Dometic, for one, prints in amps. Running on DC also skips the inverter, and the inverter is where hands-on testers find the losses. One caution on the Explorer 2000 v2: while it charges and discharges at once, Jackery caps its car and DC output a long way below the normal rating.
Will the power station shut the fridge off at night?
It can, and this is the setting to change before you leave. Both Jackerys ship with Energy Saving Mode on, which cuts every output after half a day of low load, and a fridge cycling on and off can look like a low load; both also power down after a couple of idle hours. Turn the mode off with the button combination or stretch the timer in the app. The DELTA 3 Plus's AC timeout can simply be set to never, and EcoFlow names a refrigerator as the reason it offers that.
Will the compressor trip the power station when it kicks in?
No. The plan's worst starting draw is 590 watts, well inside all three picks, and a modern camping fridge barely surges: BougeRV quotes the same figure for surge as for its maximum running mode, and Danfoss markets an exceptionally low starting current on the compressor family these fridges use. An oscilloscope test of a small fridge caught an inrush of roughly three times the running current lasting about a tenth of a second. ICECO does warn that the voltage dip at start-up can falsely trip a vehicle's own low-voltage protection.
Will I hear the fan from inside the tent?
Mostly you will hear it while charging rather than while the fridge runs, because a fridge is a light load and these fans answer to load. The DELTA 3 Plus is the one to think about: fan noise and running warm come up as a recurring theme across independent reviews, and one reviewer heard it over a vacuum. Reviewers of the Explorer 1000 v2 disagree, one calling it fairly quiet and another measuring it clearly audible only at outputs far above this plan. A tester of the Explorer 2000 v2 said its fan ran rarely.
