What each filter means
Continuous watts is the load a unit can hold indefinitely. It is the first hard limit: if your appliances together draw more than this, the unit cannot run them at all, regardless of how large its battery is. Filter using the higher number in your load range, not the lower one.
Capacity in watt-hours decides how long, not how much. A large battery with a small inverter still cannot start a fridge compressor. Treat roughly 85% of the nameplate figure as what you can actually use, because inverter losses, cell cutoffs and cold weather take the rest.
Surge is the momentary output available when a motor starts. Anything with a compressor or pump pulls several times its running wattage for a fraction of a second, and this is the specification undersized systems fail on — usually in the middle of the night, not on the showroom floor.
240V is a wall, not a preference. Most portable power stations output 120V only. A typical residential well pump is 240V and cannot run from a 120V unit at any capacity. If you tick that filter and the list collapses, that is the real answer, not a gap in our data.
Runs indoors removes every fuel-burning generator. That is not caution: carbon monoxide is odorless and lethal, and no amount of ventilation makes an indoor generator safe.
What this list cannot tell you
Filtering on specifications tells you what is physically capable. It does not tell you what is documented. The Evidence column separates the two: products with a full dossier have manufacturer-sourced solar and AC input limits, expansion rules, warranty terms, official accessories and a completed recall screen. Products marked "specs only" are sized on published output and capacity and nothing more.
If two products look equivalent here, the one with the full dossier is the one we can actually stand behind. Run the planner to size against your own loads rather than guessing at the numbers to type into these filters.
