EcoFlow RIVER 3

The short answer

This is a 245Wh battery with 300W of output, which means it stores about 208 watt-hours you can actually use and can run anything drawing up to 300 watts at once.

It runs indoors and makes no fumes. Of the 15 household loads we track, it can handle 5.

Check you have the right model

EcoFlow sells another model that can be mistaken for this one:

  • EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus — one extra word: PLUS. peak output 1,200W instead of 600W.

Read the full model name off the label on the unit itself, not off the box or the listing. The figures on this page apply only to the exact name in the heading above.

Specs from the maker, checked against 9,944 US safety recalls. Anything we could not confirm is marked.

What it can run

LoadDrawRuntimeVerdict
Phone charging and small USB devices 10–40W 5.2–20.8h Might work
A few LED lights 15–80W 2.6–13.9h Might work
Laptop and monitor 45–150W 1.4–4.6h Might work
Television 40–250W 0.8–5.2h Might work
12 V compressor fridge (camping) 25–110W 1.9–8.3h Might work

The two numbers are how long it lasts if your appliances are efficient, and if they are not. Sized over a 24-hour outage.

Warranty
The US product page references warranty support for refurbished units but states no term in years for the new unit.
Generator recharge
320W
A gas generator must run outdoors, away from windows, doors and vents. Charging a station from a generator does not change that: the generator is still the CO source and the station does not make it indoor-safe.

Recall screen

No published recall names this exact model

The single EcoFlow recall in the snapshot (26010) names only DELTA Max 2000, model EFD310. RIVER 3 is a different product line.

This check cannot clear your own unit. Most recalls cover only certain serial numbers. Read the model and serial number off the label on the unit itself, then check the maker's recall page before you use it, sell it, or buy it.

Manufacturer recall lookup

How we know the screen was not simply blind

Finding nothing only means something if the search could have found something. So we searched the same records for this brand and got 1 recall. That proves the screen can see this brand, so finding nothing for this model is a real result.

Buying the right one

No exact base-unit listing resolved

We could not confirm a retail listing whose own title states the same capacity and output as our record, so we are not linking one. Every candidate we checked is listed below with the reason it was rejected.

Listings we rejected

Searching for this model returns bundles, sibling models and refurbished units alongside the bare product. These are the ones we checked and did not link, with the reason.

ListingPriceWhy it is not this product
EF ECOFLOW Portable Power Station RIVER 3, 245W 550W $229 Listing title does not state a capacity, so base-unit identity cannot be confirmed.
EF ECOFLOW Portable Power Station RIVER 3 230,230 Wh,550W Up to 600W $196 Capacity mismatch: listing states 230230Wh, our record is 245Wh.
EF ECOFLOW Portable Power Station RIVER 2, 256Wh 300W $219 Listing title does not contain the model name 'RIVER 3'.
EF ECOFLOW Portable Power Station River 3 Plus, 286Wh 760W $299 Listing is the 'RIVER 3 Plus' variant, which is a different product from the 'RIVER 3' in our record.
EF ECOFLOW Portable Power Station River 3 Max Plus, 858Wh 990W $369 Listing is the 'RIVER 3 Max' variant, which is a different product from the 'RIVER 3' in our record.
