EcoFlow DELTA 3 vs DELTA 3 Plus: which one to buy

Buy the DELTA 3. It has the same battery and output as the Plus and cost $599 on Amazon on October 12, 2026. That day Amazon did not sell the Plus on its own. Pay for the Plus only if you will use more than 500 W of solar panels or want 140 W USB-C.

The Amazon links on this page are affiliate links: if you buy through one we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. It does not change which units are picked. How that works.

Prices checked October 12, 2026: $688 per usable kWh for the DELTA 3. The bare Plus had no Amazon offer. We compile EcoFlow’s specs and published tests; we did not test these units.

Looking for another DELTA 3? The Classic has the same battery, but EcoFlow lists no extra-battery port for it ($499). The DELTA 3 Max has twice the battery ($879). The DELTA 3 Max Plus, DELTA 3 Ultra and DELTA 3 Ultra Plus are bigger still. All seven DELTA 3 models compared.

What’s different, and what’s the same

Only charging and ports differ. The battery, the output and the outage runtime are the same.

Does the extra solar input help you?

Only if you own more than 500 W of panels. With less, both refill at the same speed. With 1,000 W, the Plus refills in about half the time. The Solar Lab got close to 1,000 W into a Plus3.

What a tester found

The Solar Lab tested the Plus. It charged from empty in 55 minutes3 at 82% efficiency3. It held 2,600 W for about a minute, not the 3,600 W surge EcoFlow lists3. With a 1,573 W load3 its fans cycled on and off3 and the inside reached 138°F3. We found no hands-on test of the plain DELTA 3.

Questions buyers ask

Is the DELTA 3 Plus worth it?

Only if you will use what it adds. It takes 1,000 W of solar instead of 500 W, and its USB-C ports give 140 W instead of 100 W. In an outage it runs your things for the same time. On October 12, 2026 Amazon had no offer on the Plus on its own, so we cannot price the difference today.

Can I add an extra battery?

Yes, to either one. Each takes one extra battery, up to 5 kWh in all12. EcoFlow lists its DELTA 3, DELTA 2, DELTA 2 Max and DELTA Pro 3 extra batteries for both12. Two sold on Amazon (prices checked October 12, 2026): the DELTA 2 Max Smart Extra Battery, 2,048 Wh, makes 3,072 Wh ($899); the DELTA Pro 3 Smart Extra Battery, 4,096 Wh, makes 5,120 Wh ($1,899). All extra batteries.

How fast does each charge from solar?

EcoFlow says the DELTA 3 fills in 2 hours at 500 W1 and the Plus in 70 minutes at 1,000 W2. Both take 11–60 V panels12. The Plus splits its 1,000 W across two inputs of 500 W, so you need two sets of panels to use it all. Which panels fit.

Can it work as a UPS?

Yes, both. Keep it plugged into the wall with your router or fridge plugged into it. EcoFlow says both switch to battery in under 10 ms12. A desktop computer may still restart.

DELTA 3 Classic vs DELTA 3 Plus?

The Classic has the same 1,024 Wh battery and 1,800 W output. It cost $499 on October 12, 2026, $100 less than the DELTA 3. It takes 500 W of solar and 1,400 W from the wall. Extra battery: not listed by EcoFlow. Buy it only if you will never add a battery or big solar.

DELTA 3 Max vs DELTA 3 Plus?

The Max has twice the battery (2,048 Wh) and 2,400 W output. It cost $879 on October 12, 2026: $505 per usable kWh, less than the DELTA 3. It runs a typical fridge about 21 hours. Extra battery: not listed by EcoFlow (only the Max Plus).
